Q.2. Do you believe that Pakistani Universities are creating an effective talent pool and what is your Company strategy to attract the best talent in Pakistan?

Mr. Mian Tahir Javed: Looking a few decades back, our academia has improved a lot by transforming from Traditional to Contemporary style of Education, but I believe there still is a long journey to cover. No doubt we have an effective talent pool but to source the right talent as per job requirement is a real challenge and we try to get the right talent by adapting structured and customized hiring tools as per our recruitment standards.

Q.3. Can one be certain to imply that workforce should make no emergency plans considering the heavy job cuts by the companies?

Mr. Mian Tahir Javed: Pakistan has a developing economy which unfolds great opportunities of career in different sectors. So instead of making emergency plans we shall realize to gain strength and competencies to deal with challenging demands.

Q.4. As far as Industry linkages are concerned do you feel that Industry will continue to support academia?

Mr. Mian Tahir Javed: Industry and Academia need to develop a strong liaison in order for academia to produce a quality pool of candidates and for Industry to utilize the same. This demand and supply chain shall be communicated through a proper platform to meet the challenging business demands.

Mr. Mian Tahir Javed: Online Recruitment technique is relatively a new concept in Pakistani Job Market but gradually companies have realized the importance of time saving and effective tool to make quality hiring decision. And ROZEE.PK has been the leading trend setters in the industry.

Q.6. How has ROZEE helped your firm regarding recruitment i.e. Have you tried any recruitment tools provided by ROZEE e.g. Job Fairs/Job Postings/CV Search?

Mr. Mian Tahir Javed: Yes we have been with ROZEE since beginning and have aggressively participated in the Recruitment activities Nationwide. We have been using Customized Online Career Portal including various other features of Job Posting and Candidate screening etc. These tools have been really helpful in our Recruitment efforts and creating a pool of quality candidates.

Mr. Mian Tahir Javed: I have passed my Bachelor in Commerce Degree from Hailey College of Commerce in 1987, and went to UK for further education, where, initially, I have done Certificate Course in Marketing and Finance from Greenwich Colleges in 1989. In 1993 I have received the Degree of Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Clayton University London.

Mr. Mian Tahir Javed: Interacting with different candidates from diversified backgrounds itself is a learning experience. And this is very unfortunate to know that candidates lack basic etiquette to present and interact professionally. Job Interview is an opportunity to assert one’s self as a prospective employee and this should not be taken casually.

Mr. Mian Tahir Javed: There are many key attributes that we may look into such as:

  • Eagerness
  • Knowledge
  • Being Assertive but not over confident
  • Personality & Character

Q.10. Any good advice you want to give for our job seekers who want to join HR field and otherwise?

Mr. Mian Tahir Javed: Whatever field candidates choose to pursue their career, they must commit themselves to give their best. Consistency and determination are the key attributes to gain success in career. Also, always try to gain knowledge and additional qualification to expand their development potential because if utilized with the right approach, Pakistani youth talent is second to none.
