Q. 1. What are, in your view, the basic principles of success in a professional life?

Mr. Asad Rezzvi: To be successful in your professional life, you have got to love what you do, you must become at least good if not excellent at it, and you have got to go the extra mile, deliver much more than you promise and much more than is expected of you.

Q. 2. Tell us about your educational life?

Mr. Asad Rezzvi: After my A-Levels from Karachi Grammar School, I left for the US and got my degree in Psychology from UC Berkeley, which is one of the top schools for research psychology.  After that I was with the Anthony Robbins organization.

Q. 3. What makes your company an attractive employer for the job seekers?

Mr. Asad Rezzvi: We are a dynamic company that’s made of people who love their work, in fact for us this is a mission. There is a huge amount of learning and growth and the challenges are big, but the rewards are also huge.

Q. 4. What do you look for in a candidate during a hiring interview session? Name 4 key things?

Mr. Asad Rezzvi:

  • Enthusiasm and energy

  • Integrity and clarity
  • Love for the work; it must be his/her mission!

Q. 5. What is the scope of Human Resource Management in Pakistan?

Mr. Asad Rezzvi: I think there’s great scope for HRM in Pakistan as there is room for development and growth. I think we can learn much from the innovations and challenges that the more developed organizations of the larger economies are experiencing.

Q. 6. How would you rate the success and importance of online recruitment firms such as ROZEE.PK?

Mr. Asad Rezzvi: I think this is a sign of things to come!  It bodes well for us as a society and as an economy.  Perhaps we can make the jump as South Korea did to a 60 percent internet-based economy.  ROZEE.PK’s success is an encouraging sign for all of us.

Q. 7. How has ROZEE.PK helped your firm regarding recruitment i.e. Have you tried any recruitment tools provided by ROZEE.PK e.g. Job Fairs/Job Postings/CV Search?

Q. 8. What is your strategy on work-life balance and how do you achieve this balance yourself?

Mr. Asad Rezzvi: To live an extraordinary life you must work hard and play hard.  But that’s easier said than done.  I believe in falling in love with my work so that I never have to work a single day of my life – this way what you love to do becomes a way of life. The only time you step away from it is to rejuvenate and recharge so you can come back to it with even greater passion and creativity and take it to a higher level. I’m not good at balancing things and that’s why I can’t do anything that I don’t love!

Q. 9. Do you believe that Pakistani universities are creating an effective talent pool and what is your company’s strategy to attract the best talent in Pakistan?

Q. 10. What is your formula of success in life?

Mr. Asad Rezzvi: Focus on becoming an outstanding human being, find your gift and develop extraordinary skill so that you can give your gift in a big way, a huge way.  You’ve got to enjoy the journey, every step of it, otherwise you’ll never really push yourself hard, and that’s important because that’s the only way you’ll experience the magic of creativity.  Live with passion and live large! Do not fear failure, be adventurous with everything and take risks, big risks, because life is risky, in fact it’s so risky that none of us will make it our of here alive, so what’s the point of holding anything back!

Q. 11. What are the biggest turnoffs in an interview of a job applicant?

Mr. Asad Rezzvi: Lack of enthusiasm and energy, being rude and serious.

Q. 12. Due to rough economic situation and soaring price rise, how does your company deal with keeping itself cost effective and attractive for job seekers?

Mr. Asad Rezzvi: Well, we don’t have a lot of overhead and almost all our employees are revenue generators. Here, in addition to getting paid well, people get to learn and grow a lot, which in the long run is the most attractive thing that retains talent.
